In these hard times due to COVID-19 we still have to continue our work. Today, most of the companies are arranging the online meet ups using the applications like zoom meetings, google meet and Microsoft team these three are the mostly used applications. The meetings are arranged in a regular basis to keep a check on the employees and to guide them. Thanks to the digital age where we are living today and can stay connected even by sitting miles apart through video conferencing.
Let’s discuss about these applications:
Google meet:
Google’s video conferencing application is specifically designed by keeping the business needs in mind. Google meet allows 250 participants to join a particular video conferencing meeting at a time.
On 3ed March 2020 google have announced will be temporarily available for all the G suit customers. G suit education customers will get their hosting cap up to 250 participants and they can also record and live stream their video conference only till 30th September 2020. This is the special offer they have announce in these hard times of pandemic. Previously the name of this application was google hangouts meet but in April it was changed to Google meet.
Zoom:
Zoom is the highest used video conferencing application right now. It is simple and easy to use. It has a 100 number of participants capacity for a meeting at a time. It has a lot of meeting facilities provided in that application like white board to draw and make people understand and screen sharing for like sharing of power point presentation so they can understand easily. It has both free as well as paid plans.
But as the usage of zoom got increased in a past few weeks there is a exposure of some serious security threats.
Microsoft teams:
It is also one of the video conferencing application just like zoom Microsoft teams Also have both paid as well as unpaid plans for the users. Microsoft teams is a part of Microsoft office 365. In both the cases of paid or paid plan of Microsoft teams the host can arrange a meeting with 250 attendees at a time.
Not to be outdone by Zoom, Microsoft has also recently added virtual backgrounds feature to so that you can hide your messy home with something more professional-looking. While this is limited images provided by Microsoft, update is expected in May that will allow users to upload custom backgrounds.

Teams also displays it in grid view but you can not see everybody at a single time just like in the case of google meet or zoom.

Security:
Zoom security has been criticised in the past, the company has gone to lengths to address more recently. Zoom now offers fully encrypted meetings and better tools for hosts to control who does and does not have access to the meeting. This includes the Waiting Room feature and a new Report User button within the security controls designed to put an end to the trend of “zoombombing”.
On the security front, Google touts its video chat offer as being secure by default, with Meet featuring host controls allowing users to admit deny and mute participants, encrypted meetings and complex meetings IDs that are resilient to brute-force hacking attempts.
While Zoom has become such a famous application since the outbreak began, Microsoft has gone to lengths to present itself as a more secure offering to that of its rivals.
Eventually, I’d like to conclude by saying that the technology today has brought us close to each other even if we are miles apart. In these hard times of Corona Virus we still have to keep doing our duties and such application helps us to stay connected and keep doing our works and also follow the social distancing orders.
