What! Altered Carbon canceled? Sadly, yes folks altered carbon has been canceled by Netflix. The Sci-Fi series aired in 2018 and the second season was released back in February. Moreover ‘Resleeved’ a special Anime title was released in 2019. This was a prequel to the first season. Altered Carbon is based on a 2002 novel by Richard K Morgan. The series features an interstellar warrior Takeshi Kovacs. The setting takes place 300 years in the future. Since death is no longer the end, with a technology that enables you to interchange bodies, the interstellar warriors are given a second chance at life. Before Anthony Mackie took over the role of Takeshi, John Kinnaman played it in the first season. The main cast of the series in season 2 was Renée Elise Goldsberry, Lela Loren, Simone Missick, Chris Conner, Dina Shihabi, and Torben Liebrecht.
The reason behind this?
The reason Altered Carbon was canceled was due to Netflix’s traditional approach regarding viewership. It was only last week that two more amazing shows “The Society” and “I am not okay with this” were canceled though due to different reasons. The last episode of season 2 saw many big revelations. The episode was heavy on action and mostly tied up all the loose ends and also saw the defeat of the season’s true big bad, the Elder that’s been controlling Quellcrist Falconer.
Casts Reaction!
Meanwhile, Altered Carbon cancellation news was met by farewells from the cast. The cast posted their memories and thanked their fans for all the support. Will Yun Lee (who played Kovacs Prime) wrote: ‘What a great ride it has been on #AlteredCarbon!! Thanks to all the fans that tuned in for both seasons. Takeshi Kovacs, one of the fav characters I’ve gotten to play!’ He had also shared a sweet photo with his co-stars huddled together in the studio.
Chris Conner (Poe) posted a photo of his character, writing: ‘He was a great character and I’ll miss him.
This was such a sweet gesture and shows how much the cast would miss this show. And I know their fans would equally miss them. The news “Altered Carbon Cancelled” is such a shock to its fan. We were really hoping for it to come back.
