Her actual name is Katrina Turquotte. She was born on 16 July, 1983. The Indian supermodel is half English and half Indian. She has 8 siblings (7 girls and 1 boy); 3 elder sisters Stephanie, Christine, and Natasha and 3 younger ones Melissa, Sonia, and Isabel and is blessed with one elder brother Michael.
Her mother is of British nationality and her father who hasn’t been in touch with the family for long now was formerly from Kashmir but acquired the British citizenship thereafter.
She spent her years in Hong Kong, Japan, China, France, Poland and other European countries. This was due to the fact that her mother; Suzanne Turquotte used to teach English as a foreign subject in different countries. This was also the reason why she never attended school and was only home schooled.
Career
When she was 14, she won a beauty contest in Hawaii and was further approached for a jewelry campaign. Thereafter, she started modelling in London.
Further, modelling was the only reason she got her break in Bollywood movie Boom, that was offered to her by Kaizad Gustad (filmmaker) in 2005.
She was supposed to make her Bollywood debut with the film Saaya, but due to language constraints she was dropped off the film.
Further, she worked really hard on her Hindi to improve her prospects in the industry. She quite struggled in her initial years but then she got her breakthrough with the film Namastey London. Since then, she has never looked back!
