The BITS Dream is not too far away
It has been announced that The Birla Institute Of Science and Technology Admission test would now be held from August 6 to August 10. This test is popularly known as BITSAT 2020 . This comes as a ray of hope for lakhs of students who had for so long been aspiring to get themselves enrolled in BITS.
BITSAT 2020 was previously scheduled to be held from May 16 to May 25 . It was postponed due to the ongoing situation of the pandemic. It is a step in the right direction in order to ensure the safety of students enrolled for the exam.
For long the final date and schedule of the exam had been a cause of concern . With the declaration of the dates , the students can now heave a sigh of relief and finally focus and prepare accordingly.
“Revised BITSAT-2020 online test dates are now announced. BITSAT-2020 online tests will be conducted during 6th August-10th August 2020. More details will be updated soon”, the official announcement said.
About a month back , the application deadline was also extended. The candidates, according to the revised rules , could apply for the exams until May 5th , 2020.
“Under the circumstances, the BITSAT-2020 examination, earlier scheduled during May 16–25, 2020, shall be held after May 24, 2020. The new test dates, along with other changes in the schedule for admissions, shall be announced later on this website (www.bitsadmission.com). All are advised to check this website for updates. We will also communicate individually through email wherever possible,” read the previously released official notification.
A LITTLE ABOUT BITSAT:
BITSAT is an online entrance computer-based exam for admission to Integrated First Degree Programmes to all the campuses of BITS PILANI , namely, Pilani, Goa and Hyderabad campuses. Having been conducted since 2005 , this exam tests the student in the areas of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Logical Reasoning and English. A student’s competitive ability ,which is thus reflected in his or her BITSAT score , helps them secure a place in the BITSAT merit list.
All the confusion and questions revolving around the dates of BITSAT-2020 makes sense , considering how deemed and reputed a University Bits Pilani is . Every year lakhs of student aspire to become a part of the various programs offered by this University in diverse fields , namely Engineering , Sciences , Technology , Pharmacy , Management and Humanities.
Besides the three campuses in India, there also exists one campus in Dubai. The University comes under the purview of the Ministry of Human Resource Development of Government of India . The courses offered at the University are approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC) , All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and other government bodies.
ELIGIBILITY FOR BITSAT-2020:
Only students who are appearing for 12th class examination in 2020 or those who have passed class 12th exam in 2019 are eligible to appear in the BITSAT-2020 test. Though admissions will be made purely on the basis of a student’s BITSAT score , he or she is required to have obtained a minimum of aggregate 75% in Physics , Chemistry , Mathematics/Biology, with at least 60% marks in each of Physics, Chemistry , Mathematics/ Biology.
Students who are presently studying in any of the campuses of BITS are ineligible to appear for BITSAT-2020. First Rank students of all boards in India for the year 2020 , would be directly admitted to the program of their choice .
Since the new dates for the exam have been officially announced , various unauthentic and fake speculations and news have been doing the rounds on various social media platforms. Students have been officially advised by the authorities at BITS to get all their exam-related information ONLY THROUGH THE OFFICIAL WEBSITE https://www.bitsadmission.com/. All the further information regarding the provision of admit cards and other exam events would be notified on the official website in some days time.
