BITSAT 2020 Exam Postponed

Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani has decided to postpone the BITSAT 2020 Exam. The organisation will soon update the new dates of the exam. BITS will upload it on its official website bitsadmission.com Further, the BITS organisation will conduct the exam through online mode only.

The institution made the decision to postpone the Exam because of the current pandemic situation of COVID – 19. In addition, the concerned authority had extended the last date of submission of the application form to May 11, 2020.

What’s BITSAT about

The Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) Pilani, recognized as an Institute of Eminence by MHRD, conducts a computer-based Online Test. The organisation conducts the BITSAT Exam for admissions to Integrated First Degree Programmes of BITS, Pilani.

BITSAT 2020 Exam is a student’s gateway to getting admission to any of the 3 campuses of BITS namely BITS Pilani, BITS Goa and BITS Hyderabad. Certainly, the organisation conducts the exam at the university level.

BITSAT 2020 Exam: Important Dates

So, the following are the details of the dates for admission through BITSAT exam :

  • Last date for submission of application form: May 11, 2020 (Extended)
  • Availability for application correction portal: May 15, 2020, to May 20, 2020

A candidate can apply for the Integrated first Degree Coursed through the BITSAT 2020 exam. The different branches of BITS offer these courses. Further, there are a total of four BITS campuses. Three campuses are in India at Pilani, Goa, and Hyderabad. One campus is set up in Dubai. So, the details of the courses are as follows:

Pilani Campus: B.E. and B. Pharm (BITSAT 2020 Exam)

 Eligibility Criteria

For admission to all the above programmes except B.E
  • Candidates should have passed the 12th examination from a recognized Central or State board or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
  • Candidates should have adequate proficiency in English.
For admission to B. Pharm.:
  • Candidates should have passed the 12th examination from a recognized Central or State board or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology and adequate proficiency in English. However, candidates with PCM may also apply for the Pharmacy program.
Other Eligibility Requirements for admission
  • Further, the candidate should have obtained a minimum of aggregate 75% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects (if he/she has taken Mathematics in BITSAT)

OR

A minimum of aggregate 75% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects (if he/she has taken Biology in BITSAT) in 12th examination, with at least 60% marks in each of the Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/
Biology subjects.

  • Only Students who are appearing for 12th examination in 2020 or who have passed 12th Examination in 2019 are eligible to appear in the BITSAT-2020 test.
  • DIRECT ADMISSIONS TO BOARD TOPPERS: First rank students of all the central and state boards in India for the year 2020 will be given direct admission to the program of their choice, irrespective of their BITSAT-2020 score as per the eligibility criteria mentioned above.

NOTE – The BITSAT 2020 Exam eligibility criteria only apply to the three campuses of India. Thus, it does not include the Dubai Campus.

Exam Pattern For BITSAT Exam 2020

The organisation conducts the BITSAT exam every year. The exam is computer-based. There are a total of four sections

  • Physics – 40 ques.
  • Chemistry – 40 ques.
  • English proficiency – 15 ques., Logical reasoning – 10 ques.
  • Mathematics OR biology ( for B. Pharm)  – 45 ques
  • Total Time duration is 3 hours.
  • Total number of Questions: 150 (MCQ)
  • Maximum Marks: 300
  • Negative Marking : (-1) for every wrong answer.
