Is Soldier Boy Dead?
A close-up of Ryan’s smile appears in the final shot of The Boys season 3. This is chilling because of the setting. In the final battle, Homelander (Antony Starr) surprised everyone by bringing out his son, Big Little Lies star Cameron Crovetti. With three generations of the same lineage together in the same space, he was trying to create a feeling of family relationship in Soldier Boy (Jensen Ackles). After the commotion subsided and things didn’t work out, Ryan decided to travel with Homelander rather than Butcher (Karl Urban).
We now arrive at this beaming frame. When a protester throws a soda in his face, Homelander introduces Ryan as his flesh and blood to a group of his alt-right (or, rather, alt-supe) fans. Homelander uses laser vision to kill him in cold blood without caring for an f—-s. And his fervent supporters welcome the passing of what they would consider a liberal “snowflake.” Ryan smiles as he looks up at his father and notices the happiness he gave to these people.
What Happened in Season 3?
In the season 3 finale of “The Boys,” Amazon Prime Butcher (Karl Urban) battles Homelander (Antony Starr).
Ryan given one rule by Butcher: “Don’t be a c—-.”
Will Ryan now become just as horrible as his father when he grows up? Will Butcher have to maybe battle Becca’s son, whom he has been caring for since her passing? The fate of the child has not decided, according to showrunner Eric Kripke. Kripke said in an interview with EW, “So many finales are like pilots for the following season, and we wanted to set up this war for Ryan’s soul.”
“The game hasn’t been over yet, in my view. We should all be scared, in my view, because if [Ryan] ends up being another Homelander, it would be really bad for the planet. He is still Becca’s child, though, and Butcher still has a chance to bring him into the light.”
Butcher is short on time to complete this. In the season 3 finale, it was revealed that he may only have a few months to live as a result of all of his Temp-V tampering, which is currently unknown to his teammates.
Will There Be The Boys Season 4?
As both men struggle to control Ryan, Kripke says, “I think one of the worries of season 4 will truly be this tug of war over Ryan. So, in my opinion, we are only hinting at the related risks of what may occur if Butcher loses that fight.
The season 3 finale of “The Boys” on Amazon Prime prepares fans for what showrunner Eric Kripke refers to as a “battle for Ryan’s soul” in season 4.
In the most recent edition of EW’s On Set video series, which delves into the creation of each episode of The Boys this season, Kripke and his actors also discuss some of the other important events from the season 3 finale. That covers what occurs to Soldier Boy and Black Noir (Nathan Mitchell) in the previous episode as well as Starlight’s victorious scene.
After Hughie (Jack Quaid) charges up the electrical lights in the climactic fight scene, Erin Moriarty’s character can absorb so much energy that she can fly and shoot a blast that pushes Soldier Boy backward.
“The fact that we are currently experiencing such a serious problem together—namely, the fact that I am learning that he feels valued by my power—made me think it was nice. And, the major impact of this is that not only has he come to his senses. But that he temporarily triggered and recognized that he did eventually want to empower me,” Moriarty clarifies. “But the nice thing is that he first rescues me, which is what he’s been wanting to do, by skipping Temp-V and instead working with electronics, which is what he’s strong at.”
