J.M Barrie’s Novel about Peter Pan the boy who never ages are iconic. It has been adapted to theater many times but the 1953 animated classic of Disney is the best. Now once again Disney is producing Peter Pan and Wendy but this time its Live action. Well, Folks Disney is casting Yara Shahidi as Tinkerbell. She will really be a pretty little fairy.
The 20-Year-old will act alongside up and coming actors Ever Anderson and Alexander Molony. Alexander and Ever will play Peter Pan and Wendy respectively. It is really an interesting cast. Meanwhile, our captain Hook with come with his own Twist as Jude Law will play the role. Wherever he goes he has his own way of adapting the character.
Although the decision to cast Yara Shahidi as Tinkerbell is a little out of the box because she is a little grown-up for the role. We will love to see her spread her magic. In J.M Barrie’s novel as well as all the cinematic adaptations Tinker Bell is the best and closest friend of Peter Pan. And the dancing pint-sized fairy’s magic dust is legendary. It’s so cute how her whole body turns red when she is angered.
Yara Shahidi Rise to Fame
Since Disney had cast Hallie Barry as Ariel it has been deviating from the traditional route. And casting Yara Shahidi as Tinkerbell is another way to follow a different route. Disney was quick to snap Shahidi as her fame has been growing slowly,
Yara has been acting since she was a child. She got her big break with ABC’S Black-ish. Her character Zoey had quickly become a fan favorite. She was loved by the fans to such a level that she had the role of Zoey in the spin-off too. Recently she has also signed an overall deal with ABC. She was also seen alongside Charles Melton in the film “The sun is Also a Star”.
