Japan’s New “Lunar Cruiser”: Japan uncovered a great news for the world. In the year 2019 Japan Aersospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) and the Automobile Giant Toyota announced that they would develop manned rover for exploration purpose on the Moon. They hadn’t given the pressurised vehicle a name until this Friday, they named it “Lunar Cruiser” after their star vehicle the Land Cruiser. Land Cruiser is a very underrated vehicle, hidden in the shadow of its German competitors.
How the Lunar Cruiser will be powered :
Japan’s New “Lunar Cruiser”: Japan plans to explore the north and south poles of the moon with this Rover. The Rover will be powered with Hydrogen Fuel Cells. As there is no atmosphere on the Moon it will experience no problem fueling up. This project is very futuristic in nature. The design of the Lunar Cruiser is inspired by Toyota’s very Land Cruiser. The Rover looks rather sturdy and strong. But, considering the size of the rover it would be really difficult to transport it to the Moon.
You, must have seen in videos how America launched the Rover on Mars and how it was so compact. but this one seems huge. If it is possible to transport the Rover to the Moon it will be a great breakthrough for Earth as it will be able to carry tons of more equipment. And the result will be better communication, and more accurate information being sent to Earth. The Cruiser’s primary fuel will be Hydrogen Fuel Cells but some energy will taken from the Sun’s Rays. Sources say that a full scale production of the Lunar Cruiser will start in the year 2022. But until then both Virtual Reality and Life size models are being used for the trials.
This is the most interesting mission in history because there will be a manned vehicle on the Moon. A vehicle that very much looks like the cars on Earth, but more advanced.
