Keith Urban ACM host surprises Canadian singer Tenille Townes and American singer Riley Green with awards.
The host for the Academy Country Music (ACM) Awards, Kieth Urban announced some great news. The news was a great deal for country singers Tenille Townes and Riley Green. Kieth urban gave the great news to the singers via video call on Zoom calls, today morning. The host declared that Tenille and Riley are the new female and male artists of the year respectively for the 55th ACM awards. The show has a history of taking place in Las Vegas or Los Angeles.But, this year for the first time, the event will take place at Nashville. The event will broadcast from the Grand Ole Opry House, Ryman Auditorium and the Bluebird cafe. Urban gave the country artists, Townes and Rilley a shocking news.
Upon receiving the news, Green said,
“When we had to come off the road back in March, I wasn’t sure what the rest of 2020 would look like,”
she added,
“So much has happened in the world since then and I’m really excited to have a moment to play music again. My grandfathers’ love for country music is what led me to this moment and I have to dedicate this award to them. Thank you to everyone who believes in my music enough to let this boy from Alabama get to share his songs like this.”
Townes after the big news said,
“I’ll always remember this feeling, standing here as a new artist. “I feel so honored and incredibly grateful just to be a part of this Country Music community that inspires me. Receiving this ACM Award feels like belief from that community, and that means so much to me.”
Other Contenders
The other artists nominated for the new male artist awards were Cody Johnson, Jordan Davis, Morgan Wallen and Russell Dickerson.
Whereas, the competitors for the award of new female artists were, Cody Johnson, Jordan Davis, Morgan Wallen and Russell Dickerson.
Towards the end of February of the current year, the nominations were announced.
