NIOS Board Exams 2020

(The National Institute of Open Schooling has postponed) NIOS Board Exams 2020 .The organisation has released a circular on June 01,2020. It states NIOS will conduct examinations from July 17 to August 13, 2020. You can read the official notification on the official website of NIOS, nios.ac.in But,  the institution has released now released another notification on June 30,2020.

This notification states that the examinations will not conduct on July 17, 2020 until further notice.

The educational institution has postponed exams of 10th and 12th classes. So, NIOS will soon release the new date sheet for Class 10th and 12th. You can read the official notification here

Board Exams 2020 Postponed

The reason for the postponement of NIOS  Board Exams 2020 is the spread of corona virus to a great extent. The Corona Virus has spread all over the country. Therefore, NIOS has taken this step. As this pandemic has hit us, it has also created a problem for the authorities to function smoothly during this period..

Previous Date sheet of Class 10th and 12th

NIOS has declared the revised date sheet for Secondary and Senior Secondary classes on June 1,2020. The theory examinations were to take place from July 17 to 13 August, 2020. Similarly, the practical examinations were to take place from July 2 to 10, 2020.

Instructions For Students During Board Exams 2020

NIOS has mentioned some guidelines. Students need to follow these guidelines during the examinations. The instructions are as follows:

  • The candidates can download the hall tickets from the official website.
  • Practical examinations will be conducted in small batches.
  • Hence, Students should contact the Centre Superintendent/ Coordinator of Als beforehand, prior to the commencement of the practical exams.
  • Students should know about the allotment and dates of the examinations.
  • Students can bring their own hand sanitizers to the examination centre.

Preventive Measures against Covid-19 at Examination Centres

In view of spread of Covid-19, Ministry of health and Family Welfare has issued certain preventive measures. In addition, NIOS has issued certain instructions for the Centre Superintendents. They are required to follow the directions. The directions are as follows:

  • Firstly, the Centre Superintendents must ensure that students must be seated while maintaining social distancing in the classroom seating arrangement.
  • The concerned authority should ensure proper hygiene.
  • Moreover, the staff as well as examinees can carry the hand sanitizers to the examination centre.
  • Students as well as examiners and invigilators should maintain a distance of at least one metre in the examination hall.

Submission of Examination Fee

NIOS has issued an official notification on May 28,2020. The organisation will not accept the submission of Examination fee for October 2020 from May 21,2020. But, it will likely accept the fee from August 16,2020 onwards.

The institution accepts the examination fee through online mode of payment. Learners can use the website portal www.nios.ac.in

In addition, learners have also the option to make payment offline. They can deposit the fee through

  • Regional Centres
  • Accredited institutions (AL)

NOTE – Al or Regional Centres will not accept cash transactions.

 

NIOS Results 2020

NIOS has declared results for Secondary and Senior Secondary for October- November 2019 Exams. The organisation has declared results for Public Examinations (RW Cases) . In addition, the learners need the enrollment number to check their results.

Similarly, students can check results for Secondary and Senior Secondary (On Demand Examinations). The examinations were held in February, 2020.

NIOS has provided online portal for rechecking and re-evaluation of marks. So, students can apply for the recheck and re-evaluation of the answer sheets through online portal.

Subjects For Class 10th Board exams

NIOS offers the subjects divided into two groups.

Group A – It includes the following subjects:
  • Hindi(201), English(202)
  • Bengali(203), Marathi(204)
  • Telugu(205), Urdu(206)
  • Gujarati(207), Kannada(208)
  • Sanskrit(209), Punjabi(210)
  • Assamese (228),Nepali(231), Malayalam(232)
  • Odia(233), Arabic (235),Persian (236)
  • Tamil (237),Sindhi (238)

More importantly, Group A includes five subjects with at least one language or at most two languages.

Group B – It includes the following subjects:
  • Mathematics(211),Science and Technology(212)
  • Social Science(213), Economics(214), Business Studies(215)
  • Home Science(216), Data Entry Operation(E)(229), Psychology (222)
  • Indian Culture & Heritage (223), Painting (225)
  • Data Entry Operations (229), Accountancy (224)
  • Hindustani Music (242),Carnatic Music (243)

However, students should choose the subjects as per their future plans and study of work.

NIOS offers the subjects divided into two groups.

Group A – It includes the following subjects:

  • Bangla (303), Tamil (304), Odia (305)
  • Urdu(306), Gujarati (307)
  • Sanskrit (309), Punjabi (310)
Group B – It includes the following subjects:
  • Mathematics(311), Home Science(321)

  • Business Studies(319), Painting (332), Data entry Operation(336)

In the same vein, students have to choose five subjects minimum. At least one subject should be a language subject.

Conclusion

NIOS Board Exams 2020 has been postponed. The institution has released the circular on June 30,2020. In other words, the examinations for theory and practicals of class 10th and 12th will be rescheduled.

In conclusion, NIOS will further update on the revised date sheet of examination for secondary and Senior Secondary Classes. These examinations were scheduled to be held from July,2020.
