President Higgins announces death of his Sioda

President Michael D Higgins dog, Síoda; one of the very famous dogs, has died.

Síoda with Bród, a pair of Bernese mountain dogs; was a famous double act at Áras and Uachtaráin; welcoming dignitaries and esteemed guests at the President’s residence.

On Saturday, a spokesperson for Mr. Higgins announced that Síoda had died. He reported, “We must unfortunately announce that Síoda died after a short illness.”

The dogs are a standard occurrence at President Higgins’ garden parties and often serve as a source of delight delight for the guests and other dignitaries.

Moreover, they are often seen posing with a picture with one of President Higgins’ several cherished canines as well. During official visits and functions, they also frequently make appearances.

The dogs are often seen and; popularly known; for snuggling up to President Higgins for a cuddle session.

Peter Casey, an independent candidate, had earlier caused outrage during in the 2018 presidential election; by challenging the expenses of Mr. Higgins in office. During a debate Casey said, “your dog grooming bills are paid for”.

Later Higgins in his campaign explained to the general public that all the expenses of keeping the dogs were met from the own funds of Mr Higgins; and the arguments made were “false and foolish.”

The President, while speaking about his much beloved dogs, said, “The dogs are not only icebreakers, they are also a great source of intelligence, and they must be shielded from the stresses of the Anthropocene.”

Síoda was a female, and Bród’s a male. the have always had pets. His last few years in Phoenix Park, were accompanied by another Bernese mountain dog named Shadow.

With more than 18,000 followers on social media, Bród and Síoda, both have an unofficial Twitter fan channel; @BrodHiggins.
