The news of a remake of the Prince of Persia was publicly released and leaked earlier this month. The game was apparently confirmed through a ranking on the Russian Uplay store. Ubisoft had undertaken the remake of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time.
Prince of Persia was developed by Jordan Mechner for video games. The franchise is based around a series of ancient Iranian action-adventure packed games that concentrate on different iterations of the Prince.
The first two titles in the series are the popular Prince of Persia; and Prince of Persia 2: The Shadow and the Flemish. In 2003, Ubisoft started creating and releasing the series with Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time.
Ever since it’s takeover by Ubisoft, the series has been rebooted twice. It has also been turned into a film, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, partly penned by Mechner and was released in 2010 by Walt Disney Pictures.
The series also includes Prince of Persia: The Graphic Novel and Persia’s Lego line, Lego Prince.

Although some fans had assumed and anticipated that Ubisoft was working on a remake of the classic 1989 platformer; the beloved 2003 game, The Sands of Time, the remake has confirmed the same.
ResetEra user AndrewDTF first noticed the leak, with a poster and a short video showing the Uplay page. However, Ubisoft has yet to publicly confirm the news of the game’s leak.
The leak gave out the first look of the latest art design of the reboot. The same has received much attention, mostly of the negative kind, from fans already. The leak has not done Ubisoft any good. This is clearly not the way Ubisoft intended the upcoming remake to be released. However, an official announcement is planned during the Ubisoft Forward presentation today. The event is expected to begin at 12 PM PT/ 3 PM ET/ 8 PM BST.
