RPSC (Rajasthan Public Service Commission) has released a detailed notification on July 06, 2020. To clarify, the organisation has released the much-awaited recruitment of RPSC ASO 2020 on its official web site rpsc.rajasthan.gov.in
The official notification states that there are a total number of Eleven (11) vacancies for the post of ASO (Assistant Statistical Officer).

Application Form Date
As per the notification, the online applications will begin from July 10, 2020. The last date to apply for the post is August 08, 2020.
Further, Candidates can fill the application form through online mode only. However, the organisation RPSC will conduct the exams through online and offline mode also.
RPSC ASO Recruitment 2020 Vacancy Details
The organisation has released a total of 11 vacancies for the different categories. The details are as follows:
- General – 06
- Scheduled Caste (SC) – 01
- Scheduled Tribe (ST) – 01
- EWS – 01
- Other Backward Classes (OBC) – 02

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants have to meet the requirements of eligibility for the recruitment of Assistant Statistical Officer 2020. So, the following are the details of the eligibility criteria. It includes age, educational qualifications, and all other requirements.
AGE (As on 01.01.2021)
The candidate’s age should be more than 18 years and less than 40 years.
AGE RELAXATION
- Scheduled Caste (SC) / Scheduled Tribe (ST) – 5 years
- Women of both General and E.W.S. categories – 5 years
- Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) Women – 10 years
- Personal with Difficulty General Candidates: 10 Years
- handicapped OBC candidates: 13 Years
- PWD SC/ST candidates: 15 Years
NOTE – In the case of a widow, she will have to furnish a certificate of death of her husband from
the Competent Authority and in case of divorcee she will have to furnish the proof of divorcee. Most importantly, there is no maximum age limit for it.
Educational Qualification
The candidates who fulfil any of the following requirements of educational qualification are eligible for the post of ASO (Assistant Statistical Officer).
- Post Graduate in Mathematics/Statistics
- M.Sc. in Agriculture Statistics from IARS, New Delhi.
- “O” or higher-level certificate course conducted by DOEACC under control of the Department of Electronics, Govt of India.
- Certificate course on Computer concept by NIELIT, New Delhi
- Computer Operator & Programming Assistant (COPA)/Data Preparation and Computer Software (DPCS) Certificate organized under National/State council or Vocational Training Scheme
- Degree/Diploma/Certificate in Computer Science/Computer Application from a University established by law in India or from an institution recognized by the Government.
- Senior Secondary Certificate from a recognized Board of Secondary Education in the Country, with Computer Science/Computer Application as one of the subjects
- Diploma in Computer Science & Engineering from a Polytechnic institution recognized by the Government
- Rajasthan State Certificate Course in Information Technology (RSCIT) conducted by Vardhaman Mahaveer Open University, Kota under control of Rajasthan Knowledge Corporation Limited.
The other educational requirements are as follows:
- Working knowledge of Hindi written in Devnagri Script.
- knowledge of Rajasthan Culture.

Application Fees For RPSC ASO Recruitment 2020
There are different application fees for different categories. Most importantly, the application fees for backward classes of other states besides Rajasthan is the same as the application fees for the general category of any state.
- The application fee is Rs. 350/- for general category and another state.
- The application fees for OBC (Other Backward Classes) / BC (backward Classes) is Rs. 250/-.
- For SC (Scheduled Caste) / ST (Scheduled Tribe) the application fee is Rs. 150/-
- For Application form correction, the fee is Rs 300/-.

- Pay the application fee via a given mode.
- Click on submit button and save the application form.

- Firstly, Classification, tabulation and frequency distribution.
- Diagramatic and Graphical Representation: Bar diagram, Pie chart, histogram, frequency polygon, frequency curve.
- Measures of central tendency: Arithmetic mean, geometric mean, harmonic mean, median, mode, quartiles, deciles and percentiles.
- Measurers of Dispersion, Skewness & Kurtosis: Range, quartile deviation, mean deviation standard deviation, variance, coefficient of variation, moments, measures of skewness and kurtosis.
- Elementary Probability: Classical and statistical definition of probability, addition and multiplication theorems of probability, conditional probability and Baye’s theorem.

- Theory of estimation and Testing of Hypotheses: Point and interval estimation, properties of estimators, methods of estimation-method of least squares
and maximum likelihood estimation. - Agriculture Statistics and Statistical Organisations in India: Importance of agriculture statistics, agricultural statistical systems in India, Agricultural census, Livestock Census, Agriculture survey, National Agricultural production Index, CSO, NSSO and National Income.
- Statistical Genetics: Physical basis in inheritance, analysis of segregation, genetic variance and its partitioning, the correlation between relatives heritability, repeatability and genetic correlation.
- Interpolation, Extrapolation and Numerical Integration: Finite differences, divided differences, Newton’s forward and backward interpolation, Newton’s divided difference interpolation & Lagrange’s interpolation. Simpson’s 1/3rd and 3/8th rule of numerical integration.
Exam Pattern
- According to the syllabus, the exam pattern includes Multiple Choice Questions.
- There will be a total of 100 questions.
- Each Question will carry 1 mark. So, the maximum marks will be 100.
- The duration of the exam will be of two hours.
NOTE – Certainly, there will be negative marking. For each wrong answer, one – third of 1 mark will deduct.
