Shenmue Based on Sega is Getting its own Anime series

Shenmue based on Sega is often said to have set standards for video games. It was followed by some of the most successful sequels in the history of video games. Recently AT&Ts Crunchyroll has broadcasted that this darling game is getting its very own anime series. How awesome is that! When Shenmue iii was released fans had very high hopes for it but unfortunately, it wound up disappointing them. The game had a track year for 20 years of innovation but this time it could live up to its reputation. The game couldn’t catch with the modern world and ended up being a disappointment.
Shenmue based on the Sega Anime series will not only air on Crunchyroll but in the United States, it will also air on Adult’s Swims Toonami. Till now we know that it will have 13 episodes and the creator of the game Yu Suzuki will get an executive producer credit.

What will the series be about?

The Anime series will follow a martial Ryu Hazuki who is on a mission to avenge his father’s death. Ryu Hazuki’s father was killed while a mysterious artifact the Dragon Mirror was stolen. A man named Lan Di was behind the death of Ry Hazuki’s father. Hazuki ends up getting snared in a magical world of rival gangs with power that could help in resurrecting the Qing Dynasty. As it’s the norm for video games a lot is at risk.

Just one wrong move and you are dead. Since the video game is set in 1986-1987 it would be interesting to watch if the Shenmue based on the Sega Anime series will preserve that or update to enter the modern world.
We are excited to see how the story will unfold itself. Other than this vague outline, and a clue of 13 episodes and it will be directed by Chikara Sakurai. Since there isn’t much to tell, let’s see what else is in store for us.
