Trials of Mana has been one of the dominant Japanese RPG series of Square Enix.  It has made a superb comeback with this and a recent collection. Trials were originally released in 1995 and this remake is the third in the series. Square Enix has done a wonderful job of converting the 2D game to the 3D era. This remake of the classic holds all the beautiful elements of the original while exceptionally adding elements to appeal to this era.  This remake has not only sold well but created a hype. Does the Remake do Justice to the Original?

Trails of Mana is a charming remake that holds all the elements of the ’90s while appealing to this generation. It is an incredibly royal remake in which everything plays the same as it did in the past. The superb sales of the remake are not just due to nostalgia but also due to the increase in digital downloads in COVID-19 times.  The president of Square Enix has confirmed that the game has not just done well but has surpassed the company’s expectations. Though no numbers were given for the expectations the company is happy.

With both Trials of Mana and Final Fantasy 7 remake doing do well there is hope that Square Enix would give us more classic remakes. Chrono Trigger is a practical choice as it can theoretically run on the same UE4 engine as Trials of Mana remake. Though we might have to wait a bit more for classical remakes as Square Enix would be focusing on Marvels Avengers to keep it going.
