SSC CHSL Exam 2020: Recent Updates

Corona Virus put a break on several activities which were to take place. Be it various sports tournaments, movie releases or competitive exams, the virus affected all. Everything has been at a standstill since March. Getting back to normalcy to some extent is becoming the need of the hour. On the educational front, the dates have come out for various exams which were postponed. Recently, new dates have also released for the SSC Combined Higher Secondary Level Exam 2020 i.e. SSC CHSL Exam 2020.


SSC or Staff Selection Commission conducts various government exams every year. It is one of the leading providers of employment for graduates, 12th pass and 10th pass candidates. Every year lakhs of candidates take the various exams SSC conducts with the hope of getting their dream jobs.

SSC CHSL Exam or Combined Higher Secondary Level Exam provides an opportunity for recruitment to various Ministries. The candidates also get recruited to various departments and organizations of the Government Of India. This exam is one of the greatest opportunity candidates can get to stabilize their career and life. It is a job which lakhs of candidates aspire to get and hence apply for this exam every year.

SSC CHSL Exam Date 2020

The candidates whose exam was after 19th March could not sit for the exam because of the coronavirus situation. The Staff Selection Commission in its official notice has released the new exam dates for the CHSL Exam 2020.
According to the official notification, the exam will take place from 17th to 21st August and 24th to 27th August. All those candidates who could not give the exam last time can now sit for the exam. The official statement also added that the dates released are tentative as nothing can be said about the situation yet.


It is a National Level Exam which is held annually. The SSC CHSL Exam is held in 3-tiers with each tier having its syllabus and examination mode.
TIER-1 is an online, Computer Based Test which is held for 60 minutes.
The TIER-2 is an offline and descriptive exam also held for 60 minutes.
TIER 3, on the other hand, is a typing test which takes place for 15 minutes.
The exam can both be taken in English as well as Hindi which makes it all the more feasible for many.
