ITBPF stands for Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force. It comes under the Ministry of Home Affairs. It functions as a Central Armed Police Force under the Government of India. The ITBPF came into existence on 24th October 1962 and is a border guarding police force specializing in high altitude operations.

The deployment of ITBPF is for border guarding duties from Karakoram Pass in Ladakh to Jachep La in Arunachal Pradesh. It covers almost 3488 km of the India-China border.

The police force deployment in ITBPF serves the nation ranging from 9000 ft to 18700 ft high rugged mountain terrain. These jobs require iron men.  Jawans have to tolerate a certain degree of toughness. From the point of view to choose as a career in ITBPF is very tough and rewarding.

ITBP Recruitment 2020 GD Constable

Pay Scale

Level 3 in the pay matrix Rs. 21,700 – 69,100 (as per 7th CPC) and other allowances as admissible in the Force

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

Matriculation or it’s equivalent from a recognized board

Sports Qualification

Players who have won a medal (s) or even participated at the level of competition

Individual Event (International/National) Competition

The sportsperson qualification shall consist of participation or winning medal(s) in any International Sports events in the last 2 years. However, he should be recognized by the International Olympic Association as a member of the Indian Team.

Players winning a medal(s) in any National Games or Championships recognized by Indian Olympic Association Sports Federation of (concerned Sport), Junior National level Championship, National School Games, All India Inter-University Tournaments/ Championship from 01/01/2018 to 26/08/2020

Team Event (International/National) Competition

Sportsperson qualification shall consist of winning any medal in National Games/National Championships in both, Junior & Senior category in the team event.

The initiation of the event should be from All India Inter-University or any recognized sports meet of respective Federation/ Association, which comes under the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports. However, the Indian Olympic Association should have conducted this event during the period of 01/01/2018 to 26/08/2020.

It is also essential for the candidates to know that when they are representing State/UT/Sports Control Boards, however, should be a playing member of the team and also must be very clear that this condition does not apply to medal(s) in international tournaments.

Age Limit

The sportsperson of 18 to 23 Years of age is eligible to apply.

GD Constable Selection Process for ITBP Recruitment 2020

The candidates submitting online application on ITBP recruitment website will follow the selection process. The selected candidates will receive Admit Cards online. But, the selection of candidates in the recruitment process will depend on the following criteria, i.e. Documentation, Physical Standard Test (PST) and also Detailed Medical Examination.
