Cheer Up, folks. We have just heard that a new Smashing Pumpkins album is being recorded. It’s under making. Two new songs were released to tease the audience before the Album comes into the market. The new songs “Cyn” and “The Color of Love” were released on Friday through Sumerian records. Meanwhile, the release date for the new Smashing Pumpkins Album is yet to be decided. These electric songs are retro-style and feature the founding members of the band Billy Corgan, Jimmy Chamberlin, James Iha, and long-time guitarist Jeff Schroeder (former bassist D’arcy Wretzky is the only missing original member). While Cyn might remind you of some previous work of the band while “The color of love” will appeal to the Rock fans with its ringing guitars and pounding drums.
And while both songs remind you of the 1980s/1990s nostalgia, they have new elements to appeal now. And both manage to take their place alongside a catalog of cherished Smashing Pumpkins classics. Though the band had an amazing tour scheduled for this year the pandemic side-lined those plans. The Smashing Pumpkin originally started as a Duo in 1988 with lead guitarist James and Billy Corgan and two drums. However, they received fame in 1993 with their release of “ Siamese Dreams” and broke into the mainstream.

- Billy Corgan met the lead guitarist James in a record store. While he was working there and the two became instant friends and started the band together.
- Smashing Pumpkin denoted all the profit from their Adore tour to a charity.
- SpongeBob was apart of Smashing Pumpkins song Tonight Tonight. Well, the actor who had voiced SpongeBob Tom Kenny was there to be precise.
- The Pumpkin part of the name was just a random thought. It has no story behind it.
- Corgan is a “wrestle maniac” and had even founded a wrestling company called Resistance Pro Wrestling in 2011.
- Though the Smashing Pumpkins were nominated 13 times for Grammy they have won on two occasions.
- It’s so nostalgic that the band played their last final concert at the same place as their first concert “The Metro in Chicago”.
