The National Testing Agency just announced the commencement of NEET and JEE exams soon. Since then, they are facing a lot of backlash on Twitter and other social media platforms. Several noted personalities like Neeta Ambani and even Greta Thunberg have joined this protest of the students. Indian actor Sonu Sood is the latest to join this bandwagon. The Backlash on Commencement of Offline Examinations
The entire world has been turned upside down due to the corona pandemic. India, too, has been experiencing serious repercussions of the same. The government has shut down schools and colleges since the past five months. Students shifting to the online mode for studies, but there are serious concerns regarding conducting important exams.
The Indian government recently announced that no other degree students were to appear for their exams except for the final semester ones. Even then the final year students are concerned about appearing for an offline exam in the midst of a pandemic. But, with the NEET and JEE exams to be held soon, students are protesting against it in social media. Everyone is seriously concerned about sitting for an exam in the midst of a lot of people. This is a very serious concern as the students may even lose their lives if they come in contact with the coronavirus.
Sonu Sood Demand to Postpone Exam
Sonu Sood is an Indian actor who has recently been in the limelight for his acts of good deeds during the corona times. He had successfully helped people to reach their homes during the lockdown and even aided people financially during these tough times. Sonu Sood is now again garnering positive applause for speaking about the postponement of exams. “I am also an engineer”, he says. “I believe that it is very important for the country to have a new breed of these young people who are going to take over a lot of departments.”
The actor mentions that around 2.6 lakhs of students are going to sit for these exams. How can we put so many lives at risk? He has also stressed on the degrading mental health of people because of the pandemic. Thus, he says the students should have some time to at least mentally prepare themselves to sit for an exam. Referring to the flood situation in Bihar, Sonu Sood asks how they expect the students to travel.

Sonu has requested the examination committee to delay the exams until November or December atleast.
